As an introductory adventure, I wanted to create something that is easy to understand and quick to learn. The result is Goats, Orcs, and Kaiserschmarrn – an adventure set in the mountains for a group of 3 to 5 adventurers.
A young boy is snatched by a mountain goat and carried over the mountains. The group must now embark on a journey to safely bring him back home.
What starts as a fun and relaxing hike to the mountain goats’ summer pastures quickly turns into a real adventure. Some nasty characters have made themselves at home in the caves high up in the mountains. This little dungeon crawler offers an easy introduction to the theme of dungeons and caves.
The group must find a safe way back home and eventually face the nasty final boss.
The adventure is designed to take 2-4 hours, but it can easily be split into two sessions. I would recommend it for fearless children aged 6 and up. For very timid or anxious children, the game master can easily tone down any scary parts.
